Reproductive Rights in 2025: What’s Really at Stake?

On the latest episode of my podcast, I speak with the Senior Director of Global Advocacy at Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA).

You may or may not know, but before I went full-time with my writing, I spent a good decade on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC as a feminist policy analyst lobbying for global reproductive health and rights.

Many Americans still do not fully grasp the massive role their country plays in restricting access to vital healthcare for women and girls around the world. That’s one of the reasons I am so excited to welcome Planned Parenthood’s Director of Global Advocacy, Caitlin Horrigan on the show this week!

A little fun fact? Caitlin and I used to work together as part of a larger global health coalition to increase American funding to international family planning efforts early in our careers.

Today, Caitlin is the Vice President of Global Advocacy at Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA), and she is the definition of a powerhouse. She has spent decades on the frontlines of reproductive rights, shaping U.S. policy at home and abroad.

In this episode of the show, we’re talking about the state of reproductive rights in 2025, what’s happening post-Roe, how U.S. foreign policy impacts women and girls worldwide, and why this moment demands more than just allies—it demands accomplices.

This conversation is smart, urgent, and, yes, hopeful. Caitlin’s clarity, expertise, and refusal to give up is exactly what we need right now. Listen wherever you get your podcasts!
